PiRouter is built around one goal: the best LLM routing technology. A decentralized LLM gateway rooted in edge computing, from a team with over a decade of large-scale internet architecture behind it. One API, native OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini protocols, and every request routed to the best upstream at that moment.

## Why routing

New models ship every week, and upstream health shifts by the minute. The scarce thing is not one more model in a catalog. It is the layer that sends each request to the best upstream at that exact moment. We build that layer with an LLM edge gateway and a decentralized architecture.

## How we work

### Edge gateway at the core

Requests enter at the nearest edge and go straight to the provider, with no detour through a central region. Routing decisions happen at the edge, close to you.

### Decentralized by design

No single choke point. Every model runs on multiple upstreams; health checks and failover are part of the architecture, not add-ons bolted on later.

### Three protocols, native

OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini protocols terminate here. Keep your SDK, change one base URL. Everything else stays the same.
